Bigger and better deals offered by almost 400 participating e-Tailers!
KUALA LUMPUR, 8 September 2015: Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC) today announced the return of the biggest online sale event in the country;, #MYCYBERSALE. This year, the shopping period will be extended to five days to accommodate more local and regional shoppers from Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia, and will be held from 28th September to 2nd October 2015.
#MYCYBERSALE 2015 will be hosting close to 400 reputable local and regional e-Marketplaces (online e-commerce marketplace), a 50% increase in merchant participation from 2014. This event will see exciting deals and promotions including free shipping and discounts of up to 94% on a wide range of products including clothes & accessories, kid & baby, home & living, books & media, health
& beauty, electronics and more.
#MYCYBERSALE returns with the aim of generating greater online shopping demand to become the driving force in boosting the eShopping culture in Malaysia. The online shopping event will also feature new popular e-marketplaces including Go Shop, Agrobazaar and 11street.my in addition to the long-running online shopping sites like Lazada, Zalora, Lelong.my and Groupon.
With a mobile penetration rate of 143%, Malaysians are becoming comfortable with the idea of online shopping. In order to enhance the shopping experience and convenience of the growing number of mobile shoppers, MDEC introducing the #MYCYBERSALE App.
“There is an increasing trend in online shopping in Malaysia which means we need to be able to provide a mobile, safe and secure environments for online shoppers. With our #MYCYBERSALE App, not only will shoppers get to shop online at their convenience, they will also be able to guarantee their online security in a safe and secure site,” said Dato’ Yasmin Mahmood, the CEO of MDEC.
Smart mobile device users can download the app on Google Play Store and Apple iStore starting from 12 Sept 2015.
#MYCYBERSALE was first introduced in 2014 under the Digital Malaysia initiative as a catalyst to the eCommerce industry; to raise SMEs’ productivity by doing business online, to generate demand and further boost eCommerce adoption in Malaysia. With the first #MYCYBERSALE generating RM24 million in SME gross merchandise value last year, SMEs continue to play vital role in increasing the domestic e-Commerce revenue for Malaysia as well as become a potential NetExporter in the region.
